I have worked in a range of different settings, both in the voluntary sector and statutory sector, as well as in private practice. In my various roles, I have worked with a wide variety of patient groups and I also spent six years specialising in the treatment of all eating disorders. I have also worked specifically with men on male body image issues, bigorexia and muscle dysmorphia and have conducted research in this field and have a specialist interest in working with those who binge eat. I also have a specialist interest in multi-cultural work perhaps due to my own mixed background. I believe in understanding the full context of a person and what makes and shapes us through our experiences in life. I currently work full time in NHS where I teach, supervise and deliver workshops.
Within my private practice, I see clients with a wide range of presenting concerns from anxiety and depression through to panic, low self-esteem, eating disorders, body image issues, and bereavement and relationship difficulties. I have a warm and friendly style and many of my clients come back to me at different stages, when circumstances require the need for further support. I aim to work in a collaborative style that is motivational, flexible, and tailored to the needs of each individual and their goals.
